    I know what u mean.... I grew up with her music in the dopey smoke daze of the mid 60's. She was the World's Greatest Caucasian Blues Singer. Nobdy can touch her!!!

      Seriously, she is a one and only.
      It's sad to think that a lot of people dont even know who she is.
      And hi, I'm new :)
      I hope to meet Janis in another life, if there is such a thing.

  Maybe it's me or maybe it's somethin' screwed-up with tribe.net, but I did a search for "Janis Joplin," "Joplin," and "Janis"--but came up with *nada*!! So I started the process of creating a Janis Joplin tribe, myself, and only THEN got a message that such a tribe already exists!
  
  I was glad to find that out, 'cause if anyone deserves a tribe in her honor/memory it is Janis.
  
  So, THANKS also for having created this tribe!
